Baby School: Bb Is For Ball!

Nov 2013 Week 2 (11 Nov - 17 Nov)

Salam and Good Day u ols.

For this week activity, i'm still referring and using printables and information from 1+1+1=1.

Note: This is a very long post!

Letter of the Week = Bb

Object of the Week = Ball

Colour of the Week = Green

Vocabulary Development Theme of the Week = Outdoor Fun

I gathered his balls put them together so he can play with the balls. This no big letter 'B'. I didnt bought it :D. For tot trays, i maintained the inserting coins only from previous week. Others, i changed to pouring from cup to cup and transfering from bowl to bowl.

He played all the tot trays and after that as usual messing time! He loves to throw the pom pom balls to us.

Reading with Tag Junior
For reading, we usually use this Tag Junior or i read books together with him. This time, we used Tag Junior for reading. First, i took the ABC flashcards and he uses the Tag device to point each card. After that, we read the books.

Here's his video reading using Tag Junior. I managed to capture this time. He didnt notice :D

Main Letter Sheet
I guided him to trace letter B using Crayola Washable Marker in Green.

His video doodling the Main Letter Sheet.

Find the Balls Sheet
This sheet also i guided him to find from one ball to another ball to make 'B' letter. After that, he scribbled the sheet.

Dot Paint the Balls Sheet
Since we still dont have the Do-A-Dot Marker type, we used the same method as the above to make him familiar with this kind of activity though he still did not understand. I think i will repeat all over again when we finish all 26 letters.

What Starts with Bb? Sheet
For this sheet, he managed to tell me all the objects in the paper and scribbled at the same time.

His video scribbling and doodling.

Dot Paint the Letter Sheet
We circled the letters together since first dont have the needed marker and second he still did not know how to circle the letters. Never mind baby. Practice makes perfect!

Stamp the Letter Sheet
We used Melissa & Doug letter stamper for this activity. Still needed me to guide him to stamp properly.

Tot Tray Activity: Inserting Coins
This activity, he's an expert! We just take out the coins and he inserted himself one by one until finish. And he repeated few times.

Number 1-10 Sheet
This time, i use the wooden numbers for him to recognize numbers. Currently, he managed to pronounce number from 1 to 10 perfectly but he did not really know the shape of the numbers. So, i had to guide him one by one. But, he managed to put correctly! Smart boy!

Balls Shapes Sheet
This time, he took the sheet himself and showed to me he wanted to do shapes. I still missing one shape. He was very interested to play with. He put the shape according to the shape in the sheet correctly. He did this activity many times. He loved it so much.

Connect the Apples Sheet
This one, i had to trace together with him from left to right. And he managed to trace back correctly this time though not really a straight line.

Vocabulary Development sheet
I only said out loud to hime the objects and he scribbled the objects. I think have to change the way of this activity. Any idea?

Lacing the Ball
Again, i DIYed the lacing card. He was still not really interested in this activity. I guided him many times. He managed to lace the ball halfway and played the card himself. Never mind, try again next time.

3-piece Ball Puzzle
I showed him how to sort the puzzle. This time, he was not focus and became so playful. He did for a while, then he threw them away.

Sequencing card
Again, I did not cut the number separately. I showed him the numbers and sequence, then he repeated me.

Shadow Matching Cards
I put the shadow cards first and then i gave him the coloured cards to match with the shadows cards. I had to guide him then he scribbled the cards and the table.

Other activity we did was learning using Baby Khalifah Series. This time, i left Colored Balls Sheet only because i have a feeling that he's not ready yet for coloring.

Next will be letter Cc. Stay tune!

Leapfrog Tag Junior

Ok. This is the new additional items for our homeschooling activities. I bought it from Mommy Nadia.

I blom seriously guna the item. Baru testing ngan Ayser tengok camne his reaction kan. Later will review about this Leapfrog Tag Junior.

Basically, brand Leapfrog ni ada banyak product for learning and development. One of the category is reading system which has 2 main product; LeapReader and LeapReader Junior. Function is to help toddlers and kids on early reading and learning. LeapReader suits 4-8 years old and LeapReader Junior suits 1-3 years old. Details bole la check kat website LeapFrog yer.

So, i bought LeapReader Junior or the old name called Tag Junior since Ayser pon is still young kan. Basic items ada Tag device and a simple book.

Ok, this is the Tag device. I bought the old version coz the new look is a puppy which i'm not keen to the design. But function wise is still the same.

It comes with a book "If I Were" which i can say is very simple. So, memang suggested to buy more books la kan. I bought additional books la jugak as below picture.

And a Tag Storage Case. Dah beli takde tempat nak simpan pulakkan. But the bag is quite small so nak simpan all the books memang la x muat kan. Mana yang dah bukak tu je la muat. Yang still dalam packaging tu x muat nk masuk dlm beg tu.

U have to download and install the software first before using it. I have tried reading the Jack & Neverland Pirates book. Hmm, quite interesting. Later later la i review ok. :)

Have to try first dah satisfied baru bole add more books. If not rugi jek. Hopefully Ayser nak la reading gune this product. Ameennnn *finger cross*

For the time being, the tag device tu ada problem, so i dah hantar balik to the seller to check. So x bole la nak guna lagi kan. Nvm, have to think of other activity to do. I have to focus more on his reading. Numbers he can pronounce already. Letters ABC tu not yet. So, i have to think how to make him love to learn letters.

Any ideas mommies?

Homeschooling Activities

Ok. Now i have update my pending entry ni. I have no idea to write actually plus have to refresh balik all the activities sumer kan.

Since i'm not working aka SAHM at the moment, so we ols x hantar our son to nursery / playschool / tadika la. In order xnak bagi Ayser bored and nohing to do at home, i have to create activity for him.

Maka bermula la pencarian aktiviti kan. So my fren recommended one of the blog la. So from there i follow la jugak sket2 sbb brg pon x sumer ada. Guna barang yang ada kat rumah saje.

1) The simplest activity for him - Pouring Activity
Since barang pon ada kat rumah so mmg paling senang la kan. Just that the yarn pom pom balls tu i DIY la kan gune yarn. Senang je nk buat yarn tu. Later la if rajin i show you how yer. This activity memang bagus even in montessori class pon this is one of the activity. You can variety kan la using different items. This took about 5 minutes for him to focus. After that, mule la activity buat sepah kan.

2) Spooning / Scooping / Transferring Activity
I used the same yarn pom pom balls and gave him a spoon and bowls. So this time showed him how to spooning items and transfer to other bowl. Same jugak, about 5 minutes je bole focus then buat sepah.

3) ABC Time Activity / Phonics Reading Activity (Not sure nk namakn apa this activity - haha)
This LeapFrog Phonics ABC ni memang bagus la for him. This thing will mention how to pronounce letters correctly. I have to find solution how to make him focus. Memang boy susah nak focus kot kan.

4) Football Activity
Dah kata boy kan. So, kene la ada activity lasakkan. Kang lembut plakkan. This one Ayser memang suka. He even can kick the ball while running. Dah macam gaya footballer dah. This activity kene         bawak jugak dia main kt luar. Now, mommy dia x rajin kuar rumah. hihi.

5) Fine Motor Skill & Logical Thinking Activity
I use this bead roller coaster for this development la kan. He knows how to roll the beads to the other side. As usual dia x kan main lama. 5 minutes the most. Then, main lain plakkan.

6) Fruits & Veges Cutting Activity
He loves this one. Banyak kali main and he can play for quite some time tau. So berbaloi la beli kan. Haha. Murah jek. But now, dia suka baling2 and sepahkan. Ada yang misplace kene cari la kt celah2     mana yg tersorok. Jgn ada 'orang' pinjam sudah kan :D

7) Learning Using Ipad Activity
I bagi la jugak sometimes Ayser guna ipad kan. Ada byk learning apps yang bole download and blajar. As usual, 5 minutes!

Dah penat buat activity mesti la nak kene ada nap time kan. Haa melepak dia ketiduran.

Other than that, i read books for him. Duduk sama2 and baca la kan. He will listen when i read for him. But, the books tu have to ada mcm2 function la cam bole flip ke slide ke kan so x de la dia boring.

Flashcards dia cam x bape minat. But will try again later.

Now, actually i dah kebuntuan idea. Since banyak brg xde and arts & craft activity susah sket nak buat sbb my mom x bg kan. Kang abes messy n sepah susah plakkan. Tgk la camne.

Any ideas mommies? Please share with me in the comment section.

Thank you in advanced!
