Tips & Guides: How To Change A Flat Tyre

This is important to for us. :)

1. Immediately slow down the speed of your vehicle and steer it safely off the road. Take note that a blown tyre interferes with the vehicle's steering and proper handling.

2. Have your car parked on a flat area. Do not try to jack your car while you are on a sloping surface, as this will pose as a serious threat for your safety since your car will not have proper balance.

3. Turn off the car and immediately turn on the emergency lights and apply the parking brake. Using the emergency lights will make your disabled vehicle more visible, especially at night.

4. Be sure that your car is in gear. If you have an automatic gear, be sure that it is on ''park (P).''

5. Get the necessary tools out of the trunk of your vehicle. You will need a good spare tyre, car jack, lug tool, a jack stand and a block for the tires.

6. Use the lug tool to loosen the lug nuts on the tyre before you jack the vehicle up, loosen them in order.

7. Use the car jack to carefully raise the front or rear end of the vehicle. You will need to raise the vehicle high enough so that you can remove the flat tyre. If you are not sure how to the use the jack, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
There are several types of jacks and different ways to use them.

8. Make sure you close the car door, booth and bonnet before jacking the car. Not doing so may cause minor distortions in the vehicle chases. This is especially true if the booth or fuel tank is full. Doors might not be able to be close properly if you ignore this.

9. Remove the lug nuts and put them aside carefully.

10. Remove the flat tyre from the vehicle and put it aside.

11. Place the spare tyre onto the hub, making sure to align the holes in the tyre to the studs that are sticking out.

12. Remember to place the tyre with the air valve facing you. If you don't see the air valves you may have put the tyre on backwards.

13. Replace the lug nuts and tighten them in the same fashion in which you loosened them.

14. Slowly lower the jack all the way down. Use the lug tool to tighten all of the lug nuts. Make sure that they are all tightened securely.

15. Place the flat tyre and tools in the boot.

16. The flat tyre should be repaired or replaced as soon as possible.

CHOLESTEROL!

What's actually cholesterol?

From definition,

Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that occurs naturally in all parts of the body. Your body needs some cholesterol to work properly. But if you have too much in your blood, it can stick to the walls of your arteries. This is called plaque. Plaque can narrow your arteries or even block them.

High levels of cholesterol in the blood can increase your risk of heart disease. Your cholesterol levels tend to rise as you get older. There are usually no signs or symptoms that you have high blood cholesterol, but it can be detected with a blood test. You are likely to have high cholesterol if members of your family have it, if you are overweight or if you eat a lot of fatty foods.
You can lower your cholesterol by exercising more and eating more fruits and vegetables. You also may need to take medicine to lower your cholesterol.

This videos will explain more about cholestrol.

Cholesterol isn't inherently "bad," but too much of it can cause a plethora of problems! Therefore, if you're fat doesn't mean that you have high cholesterol. Even thin person also has high cholesterol. Go for medical check up to know whether you have high cholesterol or not.

aLL About RON Questions

Kadang-kadang confuse kan RON petrol ni. Yang i tau RON95 kire normal car bole gune while RON97 high-end car or yg agak mahal la..tp x jugak...ada yg nk gune RON97 and ada yg nk gune RON95 walau kete besar mana pon....ahhhhh CONFUSEEEE!!!!

I read at this article on RON. So nak share kt sini ngn u olsss laa ok.

Can a car using a higher than recommended RON (Research Octane Number) experience a difference in performance?

It's a common question motorists often asked. Who better to answer it than an expert in the oil business.

According to Shell, it really depends on the car and its engine condition. If a car has knock sensor (as most cars do today), "it will adjust to the mid-point of the sensor's operating range."

1) Role of knock sensor

A knock sensor basically ensures that the car is extracting as much power and fuel economy as is possible from the engine.

Older cars tend to have carbon build-up in the combustion chambers. When they are hot, they can cause pre-ignition, so using a petrol of higher RON rating will check such uncontrolled explosions and improve the engine performance to some extent.

And as cars have varying degree of deposits in their engines, the amount of performance improvement varies from car to car.

Uncontrolled explosions or knocking is a no-no in combustion as it wastes energy and can cause engine damage.

A knock sensor allows the engine to run with the ignition timing as far advanced as possible.

The computer will continue to advance the timing until the knock sensor detects pinging. At that stage, the computer retards the ignition timing just enough for the pinging to stop.

2) Match RON and engine

Petrol with a higher RON rating will deliver better performance and better fuel economy in engines that are designed for such a fuel. The combustion in these engines will release more energy from the fuel as a result of higher compression in the combustion chambers

However, RON as a measure of a fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled way, cannot be seen in isolation. It should be considered in tandem with the fuel addtives and the engine technology. In addition, modern additives can help  to lower fuel consumption.

Cars equipped with knock sensors are able to adapt to fuels that have slightly lower RON than the minimum specified for the cars. The sensors will allow the engine to adapt to the lower RON but the car will use up more petrol and lose some power as well.

3) Mixing 'em up

Mixing RON95 and RON97 does not have any detrimental effect as long as the fuels meet or exceed the minimum RON required by the engine.

In Malaysia, Shell retails FuelSave (RON95), V-Power (RON97) and Diesel with Fuel Economy as its main products.

It also sells V-Power Racing, a top-end fuel, which it would only described as having a RON rating "above RON97". The product, available at only a few Shell stations in the Klang Valley and Johor, is touted as a premium fuel that offers more power and acceleration.

While Shell markets fuels by the same name in different countries, their octane rating varies from country to country.

4) A complex process

Fuel and vehicle engines are both complex systems. Understanding how fuel components work and interact with the engine and behave during the combustion process are keys to developing performance fuels.

The performance of a fuel depends on crude oil composition, available refinery streams, refining technology and performance components or additives.

With about 200 constituent parts in a petrol recipe, advancing motorsport fuel technology requires extensive research and development expertise.

While some elements are adapted for the extremes of motorsports, almost all component of a Formula1 fuel can be found in V-Power as well. Moreover, what Shell scientists learn when developing racing fuels is also transferred to the road with its V Power.

An additive called friction modification technology or “FMT”,  found in V-Power 97 and V-Power Racing, acts as a lubricant clinging to the metal surfaces of the cylinder walls to reduce friction and allow the engine to turn more freely. This helps to provide better engine responsiveness.

So, paham x? kalau x paham, buat2 paham aje laa.haha...Ehhh...but it's important for u to know....

Knowledge is POWER kan?

Another Sabah Trip.. - Sandakan

Yup, another work trip to Sabah, this time it's Sandakan.

Sandakan is only 20 mins away from Sepilok. Always wanted to go but just didn't get the opportunity yet.

This time around, our client was so kind (i'm dead serious) where they brought us for a seafood dinner. We had Flower Crabs (full of meat), Tiger Prawn, Garoupa and etc... Such a great feast...

The best part of the trip was the "Lobster Noodles". and it was a lunch thingy the next day..

I have tried so called Lobster dish at Victoria Station and it was nothing compared to this one.. So fresh and juicy... I can't really recognize the taste, something similar to prawn and crab..

Really look forward to return to Sandakan..

Signing Off,

Lahad Datu Work Trip..

Of course it was a business trip...I had to supervise a training session in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Once arrived in K. Kinbalu, we had to take a connecting flight (a smaller plane) to Lahad Datu.. It was quite an experience flying with MAS Wings. The time period between the two flights were so close we had to ran to make it before the departure time. Something like 'Amazing Raze'... Even our bag were not load onto the designated compartment, the staff has to manually handcarry them... Hahaha..

The place is called Felda Sahabat 16. The training was conducted at a college in Felda Sahabat. They have about 58 kampungs for settlers in Sahabat. The land size is as big as Negeri Sembilan. Woww... and it's covered with Palm Oil Plantations. We stayed in a small resort by the seaside.. "Felda Residence"

Sempat lagi... jiwang..

Somewhere near the resort, they have a huge storage tank for the processed palm 'oils' with a connecting pipeline 1 km out to the sea.. for tankers to port and load the oils for export markets.. amazing..

On my last day in Lahad Datu, we were brought to see Orang 'Pala'u' (perahu) .. It was a shocker to see how they live and this is in Malaysia.

Basically, they lived in their boat. Some has 5-7 family members. Everything is done right there in the 'boat', Cooking, washing, sleeping, eating and etc. Don't be surprised, this picture was taken right smack in Lahad Datu town.

The picture above is not them selling shirts. They actually drying them.. I was told that these people don't have nationality, most of them migrated from the Phillipines (20 mins by boat from Lahad Datu) and decide to stay in Malaysia. Of course there are no special privileges given.

It was pure experience being in Lahad Datu.

Top 10 Car Parts Likey To Fail

Attention!! especially ladies...we dont know all about car so much....These are parts that always cause you trouble...

So, take note and at least we know how to handle when it happen.

According to British specialist insurer Warranty Direct, its study shows that around one in three repairs to vehicles aged between three and seven-years old will be due to a wear-related failure.
Manufacturer new car warranties only cover material or manufacturing defects because wear-related failures increase in frequency as a vehicle ages and moves outside the traditional three-year cover period.

The Warranty Direct data shows that even small parts which will wear out over time – like the bearings in a water pump – could set you back an average of £209 (RM1,045) to fix. Meanwhile, larger components like gearboxes cost on average £1,378.65 (around RM7,000)  to put right.

Don't know what's that thingy term....hehe...just google it :D
