Jakarta Trip.. Need suggestion..

We are still wondering what's the best way to get to Bandung from Jakarta.. Some says Train.. some says car..

If we take a car, most probably the road would be congested.. further more it's new year break..

Train is far more better choice for now. The frequency is one train every hour. Board the train at Gambir Station and stop at Bandung. There is an executive class coach which is comfortable. Argo Gede coach to be precise. Journey is about 3 hours. The fare is only about RM 20/pax one way. Any suggestions?

What are the best items to buy at Bandung, care to share..?

Tanah Abang Shopping Centre Collapsed???

We're planning to go to Jakarta for holiday next weekend...for shopping and searching for businesses.....

But suddenly heard the latest news about Tanah Abang Shopping Centre Collapsed...Oh no!!!

Read below:

JAKARTA, Dec 23 (Bernama) - Two people were killed and scores feared buried under the rubble when an extension building to a shopping mall in Tanah Abang collapsed Wednesday.

The Malaysian embassy here was closely monitoring search and rescue work at Tanah Abang, a popular shopping area for Malaysians visiting the Indonesian capital.

As of noon, the embassy had yet to receive information on whether Malaysians were involved in the incident at 10am.

Hundreds of Malaysian tourists and traders packed the many textile shops in Tanah Abang on weekends.

A Bernama visit to the incident site found that several victims buried under the rubble had been rescued.

Scores of rescue workers assisted by members of the public were working non-stop to rescue the others trapped. Many used hacksaws to hack through the concrete.

Several construction workers met said the extension building which collapsed was meant for public toilets.

No official report on the incident had been made.

Charity Dinner @ 1World Hotel

Last Friday, we had an invitation to a charity dinner on behalf of my company. So, we went there after our appointment at Pavilion. We reached the hotel at 6.15pm.

That time was Cocktail. So, we had light food for 'alas perut' as we also were hungry. Thought the dinner started at 7.30pm. But, end up started at 9.00pm...

There were a few stage performances before they served dinner. We snapped pictures here and there.

There were quite a lot of dishes being served and we were full by the time 3rd last dishes. There were also other stage performances by Dato' Leonard Tan, Helmi Harun a singer and bidding ceremony for charity also the mock cheque ceremony.

The dinner end up finished around 11pm. We quickly went out before a lot of people queueing for ticket payment.

That's all for the Charity Dinner....Overall quite fun!

Chop chop...we got free Aquaria Tickets! Since not many of us attended the dinner...we got 4 tickets for us..hahahaha

Ayra's Birthday Celebration

Yesterday, we were invited to Ayra's Birthday Party. Thanks to Iza for invited us. This is the first time we went to MegaKidz MV as u know that we have no kids yet and never have thought of going there.

The party was fun and quite a lot of people there. Most of them were bloggers and I barely know them. So, I just kept quiet...I met Julie, Shaz and Noreen.

At the end of party, Ayra got cranky. Maybe she was tired for whole day and quite shocked of such event.

By the way.....

Happy Birthday, little girl~~!!! May Allah bless you always...

The Twinnies~~

Last weekend (EdiulAdha weekend), a day before we went back to Kuala Berang, my SIL came to KL to my PIL house since she delivered twinnies....they haven't come to KL yet. So, they came here to jalan-jalan KL with their newborn twins.

And here are the twinnies. They are 4-months old now. Last time, my hubby and I visited them during her confinement which the babies were 1 week old and they were so small and fragile. But now, they grow so fast.

On the left is the big sister and on the right is the 2nd sister. Can see the latter one is bigger than her big sister. During my SIL delivery, she did caesarian and the doctor said that the second baby is on top of her sister which can see now she's bigger!

This is when we were preparing to go to Kuala Berang while they were preparing to stay @ PNB Darby Park Hotel to continue their 'jalan-jalan'.

Can see my hubby's talent as a father??? hahaha..InsyaAllah...there will be our turn soon...Ameennnn

Review: The Twilight Saga : New Moon

Last Monday, we went to Pavilion to watch The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The seats were almost full. We were in the big theatre room.

The movie is the sequal of The Twilight. Basically, this time they focus more on new character which is the Warewolf. The romantic part between Bella and Edward is not much this time and some of the scenes were hanging just like that especially the ending. I thought after Edward proposed Bella, it's still the other scenes...but it's just end. The plot is in messy.

Source: Media Film

Comparing to the first movie with this one, I prefer the former one (The Twilight). For this movie, my rating is 3/5. 2 reasons :

1) Lacking of romantic part of Bella and Edward

2) Messy plots / scenes and ending part hanging

Hope the third one will be better than this one....

Our Balik Kampung Trip to Kuala Berang

Ready to leave for Kuala Berang

Last weekend both of us together with my family went to Kuala Berang, Terengganu. Kira balik kampung la after 4 years. Honestly i can't remember how to get there and that shows how long it was.

Cruising at LPT, 140 -160kmph

The journey was relaxing at first with minor traffic jams caused by an accident. After exiting the Pantai Timur Hway at Jabor we took the trunk road to Kuala Berang, one of two ways going there. The road was so damaged with pot holes everywhere. There were at least 2-3 holes in a kilometre. The tiredness was not from the driving but the concerntration you had to put on the driving, avoiding the holes. I'm not sure whether the damages were there all this while or were caused by the recent flooding. Talking about that, we were lucky the flooding has recovered the day before and there were no sign of it except a minor landslide.

Gotong-royong Korban

We rented rooms at Kuala Berang since the kampung house can't possibly accomodate 10 people at one go. We attended the korban ceremony and were re-introduced to the family members since we have not met for a long time. I even found out that i have nephews and nieces about the same age as me. hahaha. The korban was done in a gotong-royong manner. There were makcik everywhere instructing the youngsters on the cooking. Most of the time we only nod when they talk to us, their acsent were too hard to pick up. We managed to get ourselves 'daging pacak', a delicacy among our family. It's actually meat covered with 'kunyit' and bbq-ed on top of the fire pit until cooked, eat while hot.

Wedding

There was a wedding ceremony on the same day of the korban.

Aishah posed for the camera

Tasik Kenyir

On the last day, we went to Tasik Kenyir to take some photos. We were dissapointed because of the not-well-kept environment as well as improper maintenance from the local authorities.

Last minutes changes, my dad decided to stay one more night at Kuala Berang leaving both Aishah and I no choice but to drive back to KL ourself. Since we were not in convoys anymore, we have all the time to ourself. Both of us decided to visit the Taman Tamadun Islam in Kuala Terengganu before leaving.

Taman Tamadun Islam

The achitectural designs are amazing, but say to say the facilities were not well kept. As the saying Malaysia has all the 1st world facilities but 3rd world maintenance. It true, we can see them everywhere.

Passports/Tickets

We even got passport as 'we are visiting and travelling around the world to visit monument and mosque'.

Our journey route

On the way back, we were caught in a massive traffic crawl at Kemaman. For a 10 kilometre stretch, it took us 2 hours. What a headache. The best part, there were no accident or flood, just a damaged bridge. It took us 11 hours to reach home from Kuala Terengganu. One of the most tiring journey i ever had.

We had fun tough, and might consider going there again sometime in the future.
